SUMMIT PHYSICIAN NAMED DIRECTOR OF NEUROSCIENCES
June 14, 2010 Summit Medical Center announced today that Christopher Taleghani, M.D., neurosurgeon at Summit, will serve as the Director of Neurosciences for the hospital for a two-year term beginning last month.
In this role, Dr. Taleghani will work with the hospital to continually assess and improve the efficiency of the facilitys neurosciences services, participate in long range planning and lead the efforts to create a certified stroke center at Summit. These initiatives will provide more comprehensive, integrated and evidence-based care for all neurological patients, treating a variety of concerns from stroke and brain tumors to other neurological diseases and conditions.

Dr. Taleghani received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he also completed his internship in General Surgery. He went on to complete a residency in Neurosurgery at Pennsylvania State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Taleghani also holds a Masters of Business degree from George Washington University. He has served as a neurologist at Summit Medical Center since 2006.
