In this role, Dr. Taleghani will work with the hospital to continually assess and improve the efficiency of the facility’s neurosciences services, participate in long range planning and lead the efforts to create a certified stroke center at Summit. These initiatives will provide more comprehensive, integrated and evidence-based care for all neurological patients, treating a variety of concerns from stroke and brain tumors to other neurological diseases and conditions.

Bert Beard, Associate Administrator said, “We are thrilled to offer extensive neurological services at Summit Medical Center and feel an obligation to the community to build on those services.  The development of a Certified Stroke Center represents the next progressive step in the evolution of our neuroscience program and our commitment to provide the highest quality of care for our patients.”

Dr. Taleghani received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he also completed his internship in General Surgery.  He went on to complete a residency in Neurosurgery at Pennsylvania State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Dr. Taleghani also holds a Masters of Business degree from George Washington University. He has served as a neurologist at Summit Medical Center since 2006.
